In the blink of an eye. In a heartbeat. In an instant.
There are plenty of cliches for how quickly things can change, and this video offers a candid look at how true those cliches can be.
This rider, identified in the description as “FreakinRiley”, is out for a ride along this sunny, relatively wide open highway when he is unable to keep his Yamaha R1 in his lane and drifts into the guardrail, sending him and the bike on a pushing ride.
As Riley himself comes to rest on the other side of the guardrail, you can hear the pain in his voice as his helmet-mounted GoPro continues to record. His bike stayed on the right side of the guardrail, as we see when his riding partner returns to the scene of the crash.
Riley would survive the incident, though he did suffer a collapsed lung, five broken ribs and a spiral fracture in one of his legs. Stay safe out there, riders and drivers. Things can go from good to bad in a split-second.
